Benefits of Feedforward for Model Predictive Airpath Control of Diesel Engines

چکیده
This paper investigates options to complement a diesel engine airpath feedback controller with feedforward. The control objective is track the intake manifold pressure and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) rate targets by manipulating EGR valve variable geometry turbine (VGT) while satisfying state input constraints. based on rate-based Model Predictive Control (MPC) that provides integral action for tracking. Two feedforward are considered one look-up table specifies as function of speed fuel injection rate, another (non-rate-based) MPC generates dynamic trajectories. controllers designed verified using high-fidelity model in GT-Power exploit low-order linear parameter-varying (LPV) prediction which identified from transient response data generated model. It shown combination has potential improve performance robustness design. In particular, without can lose stability at low speeds, MPC-based results best response. Mechanisms able assist stabilization discussed.

Robust Model Predictive Control of a Diesel Engine Airpath
Model predictive control represents one of the most promising methods, also in fast industrial applications like a Diesel engine. But especially Diesel engine control meets problems of uncertainties and disturbances, thus model-plant mismatch is omnipresent, which obviously decreases the performance of model based control. This paper compares different robust predictive control strategies appli...

a semi-empirical mathematical model for predicting physical part of ignition delay period in the combustion of direct - injection diesel engines with swirl is developed . this model based on a single droplet evaporation model . the governing equations , namely , equations of droplet motion , heat and mass transfer were solved simultaneously using a rung-kutta step by step unmerical method . the...
Airpath strategy for experimental control of a Diesel HCCI Engine
A motion planning based control strategy is proposed for the airpath control of turbocharged Diesel engines using exhaust gas recirculation (EGR). The considered model uses simple balance equations. The fully actuated dynamics are easily inverted, yielding straightforward open-loop control laws. This approach is complemented by experimentally derived look-up tables to cast the drivers requests ...
متن کاملinvestigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures
deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
